Bhaiji: A Brother Beyond Bonds, A Light Beyond Time
Some relations are tied by blood, others by the soul. For me, Bhaiji Roop Krishan Raina, son of Pandit Raghunath Raina, prop Newlite Stores, Budshah chowk, resident of 65 Karan Nagar, Srinagar and brother of Shri Santosh Raina, was not just my uncle—he was truly my brother, my companion, my guide. His presence in our lives was like a gentle breeze, always filling the air with warmth, laughter, and joy.
Bhaiji had a rare gift—the ability to make life appear beautiful, and worth celebrating. Always happy, always smiling, he was the kind of person who could lift the heaviest of hearts with just his presence. To many, he was a good-lucky soul; to us, he was a beacon of hope. His laughter was infectious, his heart unconditionally giving, and his way of life a lesson in gratitude and cheer.
Life, however, was not without its trials. The exodus from our beloved Kashmir tore many roots apart, and Bhaiji too was forced to leave behind the land of his ancestors, his cherished home in Karan Nagar, Srinagar. With courage and resilience, he rebuilt life in Bhopal, carrying with him not bitterness, but hope. Even in displacement, he never let hardships dim his light. Instead, he shone brighter, comforting others, reminding us all that home is not only a place—it is the love we carry within and share with others.
To me, he was more than family; he was my elder brother in spirit, my support, and my joy. He filled life with such energy that even today, his memories echo like a song of happiness. His story is not just one of survival, but of living fully, of spreading light in the darkest of times, and of reminding us that resilience and love can conquer all.
Bhaiji Roop Krishan Raina may no longer walk beside us, but his smile, his spirit, and his love live on eternally. He was, and will always remain, the brother I was blessed to have—a true beacon of light who continues to guide us, across time, across distance, and across generations.

CHAND JI PANDIT
With a heavy heart, I pen down few words to express my feelings in memory of my affectionate companion Dear Roop JI, with whom I spent the best time in Dubai.
He had all qualities of a noble person viz, being comfortable in every situation and treating everyone at par irrespective of the relation, adding warmth in all parties/ celebrations, never feeling tired and so and so forth
I would always feel myself elated in his company and cherish every moment with him.
I never feel that he is away from us.
