Siyah Raat!
In this dark, bitter night of winter, they bury us alive, their hatred
Manesha Kachroo left her home in Srinagar at the age of eight and moved to Jammu in 1990 when her family was forced out of the valley due to terrorism. Since then writing has always been her hobby, often with an underlying nostalgia of what she left behind in Kashmir. She moved to the US for her Masters and ever since called this great country her home. She lives in Texas, and continues her exigency of writing and acrylic painting in spite of the busy work and personal life. She grows her own mounj-haakh but still misses the strawberries of her bygone garden in Kashmir. She writes in English and Urdu/Hindi.
