Planet

The planet spins fast like a wheel on a car,
Not too close,
not too far from its home star,
Once filled to the brim with roaring hot lava,
But life finds a way through.

On the planet, water’s appeared,
Where the first life emerged,
They spread around the globe like a smear,
Life had found a way through.

Over time, the planet shifted,
Sea and land collectively rifted,
Forming hills and mountains and a desert here and there,
Life will definitely thrive here.

Humans, as they call themselves,
Dominate as they build,
Cities, factories and infrastructure,
Heating up the planet still,
But if the environment doesn’t collapse in a big pile of goo,
Life will find a way through.

Aauram is a curious and enthusiastic Year 7 student with a strong passion for science, space, and mathematics. He loves exploring new ideas, solving problems, and asking big questions about how the world — and the universe — works. But Aauram is not just a thinker — he is a builder. He loves creating things from the ground up, whether it’s shaping worlds in Minecraft or assembling detailed designs in Lego. His hands and imagination work together to capture the wonder he feels in his heart. He sees science as his compass, maths as his map, and building as the journey. Passionate about the environment, Aauram cares deeply about the future of our planet and the importance of protecting it.

Amazing poem! Well done Aauram – proud of you.

Not sure if you know but your dad has a fine taste of poems. Let me tell you a quick story. I was at your house and we discussed the usual topic 11+ exams. He mentioned about Ozymandias poem during his school days. It wasn’t an easy poem to comprehend.
I did that poem with my students and guess what – it came in the 11+ exam Stage II. My students were thanking me but I told them to thank my friend from MK.

Aauri, I really like how your poem tells the story of Earth from the very beginning all the way to people today. The repeating line about life finding a way makes it powerful, and your descriptions of lava, water, and mountains are really vivid. It’s such a creative and thoughtful poem! Well done and keep expressing
